The Choice is now in theaters!

The feature film adaptation of my best selling novel The Choice is now showing in theaters nationwide and the movie's cast, crew and I can't wait for you to see it on the big screen. Directed by the very talented Ross Katz, it stars Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer as Travis and Gabby who make some pretty unexpected choices, big and small, that define their lives.

Making this film brought me back to my roots here in North Carolina and I love that Ross treated Wilmington as more than just a backdrop. He made it come alive, almost like a third main character. He was also great with actors. In his hands, it’s immediately obvious why Gabby will risk everything for Travis and at the same time you can see why Travis can’t pull himself away from her.

The Choice may remind you of my very first novel, The Notebook, where a couple comes together and we watch their lives unfold. We see what eventually happens between them and the choices they make. Watching, it seems like the title refers to a choice that occurs early on, but there are plenty of twists and turns that make the story even more memorable, more profound, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about it.

Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude to all of my readers. It’s you and your enthusiasm that make it possible for these stories to come to life on film. And for that I am truly grateful.

Spanning a decade and tracing the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life's most defining events, The Choice features a memorable ensemble of friends and family in Sparks' beloved North Carolina setting, culminating with the question that every couple must ask themselves: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

With sincere gratitude, happy See Me release day!

Dear Readers,

Today is the day! My latest novel, See Me is now available online and in bookstores across the US and UK and my book tour officially kicked off this morning in my hometown of New Bern, NC.

I have to be honest with you: it is always a challenge for me to conceive a unique, compelling and original storyline. After eighteen novels, it’s even more difficult. When I wrote See Me, my singular goal was to surprise and delight you as a reader.

See Me in some ways, is similar to The Guardian and Safe Haven, in that the novel evolves from a simple love story to a story with thriller-like elements. However, unlike the previous novels, See Me has more twists and turns; part of the fun of the novel is in trying to figure out what’s happening, and who the antagonist actually is. Also, the characters of See Me are very different – perhaps even more flawed – than characters in my previous novels. Both Colin and Maria have bits of me in them; they also have bits and pieces of other people I’ve met over the years. You had a sneak peek at See Me’s main characters earlier this month and I can’t wait to hear what you think of them once you to get to know them better.

Last, please know how much I appreciate you and all of my readers. From those who helped select See Me’s book cover, to fans who make it out to my tour events, to readers who simply choose to take time out of their busy lives this week to escape into the pages of See Me... I feel more gratitude for all of you than you can possibly imagine.

They are among my favorites that I have ever created, and I can’t wait for you to read about them next month. As a thank you for being a subscriber, I’m including the not-yet-posted introduction for Evan. Visit my website for an early peek at four more of the people you will be meeting and hopefully falling in love with when See Me hits bookstores on October 13.
